Looking for something to shake the winter blues? Look no further! The 2020 RBC Winter Carnival is happening January 17th and 18th, and features both indoor and outdoor activities. We spoke with Anthony Gatto, a 4th year Medicinal Chemistry student and the Student Union’s Director of Campus Events, to learn more about the second annual RBC sponsored event.

If you love the outdoors, then Rail Jam is for you! This event was originally supposed to take place on January 17th, but will be postponed due to icy conditions. Keep an eye on the “2020 RBC Winter Carnival” Facebook page for updates! Rail Jam is in partnership with the UNB Ski and Board Club, and features a trick competition on the Quad. This event will run for an hour and a half. RBC will be handing out free hot chocolate to keep everyone warm while they cheer on the participants.

If outdoor activities aren’t your thing, have no fear; there will also be a concert on the 18th in the SUB. Starting the night with a bang is UNB’s own Joe Forestell, followed by Canadian duo 88glam, and finally (drum roll, please) Australian DJ Nina Las Vegas! Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and the concert kicks off at 9 p.m. This is an all ages concert, and there will be a 19+ area designated at The Cellar Pub.

Early Bird tickets are sold out, but you can still get your hands on general admission tickets for $15—grab them quick because you DON’T want to miss this!
